Client Service Representative

Be a part of something established but reinvented in Dana Point! Dana Point Harbor Veterinary Hospital, located at 34249 Pacific Coast Highway, in Dana Point, CA, is continuing its 40 -year service in the area as a veterinary hospital – this time as a family-owned and operated (noncorporate!) full service general practice and urgent care facility, opening in November 2024.

Our Mission is to revolutionize veterinary medical care by reinventing the Veterinarian-Client-Pet-Relationship (VCPR).By focusing on family and community connection, leading with empathy, and making a sustainable positive impact on the environment, our vision is bringing the relationship back to private practice.

Our values center on doing the right thing. Available: DNVH will provide centralized, comprehensive multilevel care when your pet needs it, every time. Aware: We will listen to the needs and wants of the community and ask what we did well or what we could do better.   • We are seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Customer Service Representative, with a preferred 2-3 years of verified experience, for our general practice hours Monday through Friday, 8a-5p.

Key Responsibilities:

Communications: engage team members, clients and patients with a compassionate, respectful tone and demeanor. Ask questions until understanding is achieved. Learn things! Have fun!

Client Care: manage client and patient accounts, cash drawer/payments, provide and record timely, accurate communications for patients in the hospital. Provide and explain treatment plans, procedures, and hospital forms.

Supportive Role: other responsibilities as assigned to assist in furthering our mission, vision, and values.

Required Skills:

Salary Range: $17-20/hour

Benefits: Initially 8 days PTO awarded on a prorated schedule, then increasing after additional time with the company. Personalized ala carte package (choose from medical and life insurance, paid time off, retirement plan (after a year with the company), continuing education reimbursement, Employee Assistance Program, gym membership, restaurant discounts, child care assistance, uniform allowance). Pet policy to include up to three personal pets for semiannual lab work, vaccines, and feeding program. Company-wide learning/CE at the hospital annually.   • We are seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant, with a preferred 2-3 years of verified experience, for urgent care/emergency cases Monday through Friday, 2p-11p.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care: provide and record timely, accurate treatments and directed care for patients in the hospital. Round patients with shift change and/or providers when requested. Provide and explain treatment plans, procedures, and hospital forms.

Supportive Role: other responsibilities as assigned to assist in furthering our mission, vision, and values.

Required Skills:

  • Phlebotomy
  • Radiography – full body and dental digital imaging
  • Surgical Assistance – prepare instruments, surgical suite, and patient for procedures; monitor patient during and after surgery, record pertinent medical information, communicate regularly with provider regarding pet’s condition
  • Dental Care – perform routine comprehensive oral health assessment and treatment procedures, oral at-home care counseling
  • Laboratory Testing – utilize in-house suite of machines and prepare reference lab submissions
  • Medication and Treatment Administration – administer medications through various routes seen in hospital, ability to obtain/maintain a controlled drug substances permit
  • Customer Service – greet, assist, and provide the best possible experience for both client and patient
  • Inventory Management – restocking, adding to order list, assisting with counts as needed
